JOYFUL JUNIORS!

By Junior Warden Chloe Albery.

Over the past year or so Tangmere Junior Wardens have had many fun events and interesting patrols and litter picks.

We have taken part in many community competitions such as Firework Safety Posters and Oving Scarecrow Day – which we won!

Junior Wardens are a very serious and caring team, who make sure that the community is safe and clean. We do this by having regular litter picks and patrols. Patrols include reporting graffiti, dumped objects and broken items we see.

Being a Junior Warden helps people respect other’s property and care about the environment we live in. Besides litter picks, patrols and cleaning the bus shelters, we have many different, exciting trips. For Christmas, we had a trip to the Chichester Canal and in the autumn we went to Weald and Downland Museum for ‘Autumn Action’.

Junior Wardens also present many assemblies to Tangmere Primary School about what we do as a team. Junior Wardens is a great opportunity for any child aged 10-11 who takes an interest in safety and the environment.

I strongly recommend becoming a Junior Warden to people in Year 5 or 6 as the two years I have spent in this role has been very enjoyable. I will miss it when I move up to High School this year.
